ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE . . .

DIRECTOR OF WRRC LANGUAGE PROGRAMS. Directed a multi-million dollar curriculum project to develop materials for Yup'ik Eskimo and English Language Programs for Southwest Alaska . Western Regional Resource Center ; Anchorage , Alaska 1980-1983.

Responsibilities:

--Supervised materials development staff housed in Anchorage ; staff included 15 English and 5 Eskimo writers, 3 copyreaders, 10 clerk typists, 2 artists, q graphics specialists, and numerous Native culture specialists.

--Planned and conducted inservice training on-site for WRRC teachers in four districts.

--Oversaw commercial typesetting and commercial printing of materials.

--Presented to state and local school boards, village advisory committees, and at national professional conferences.

--Coordinated pilot test of rough draft materials (80 teachers at 10 pilot test sites).

--Produced a 4-part training film with consultants at the University of New Mexico .

--Wrote and arranged for production of WRRC's public relations newspaper.

--Contacted and arranged for services of nationally acclaimed consultants in curriculum and language.

 

EDUCATIONAL AUDIT TEAM MEMBER. Served as part-time staff member for WRRC's "Project Impact." This project developed a process for auditing school districts utilizing Effective Schooling research literature--the first such audit document in the nation. Western Regional Resource Center , Anchorage , Alaska 1981-1982.

REVIEWER of CALL Project's "Understanding Spoken Japanese." Reviewed and prepared assessment report for Kaigai, the U.S. firm charged with managing Nippon 's English videodisc project. Evaluation conducted at U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs. 1989.

COORDINATOR FOR TUSD AUDIT PROCESS. Served as Acting Superintendent's representative to Regional Superintendents in the drafting of an audit process and the requisite documents. Tucson Unified School District ; Spring 1985.
